Plain talk, no buzzwords
We’ll tell you when something isn’t worth it. Honest advice is cheaper than a beautiful proposal for the wrong project.
About Hashfox
Hashfox is the tech partner for companies that want digital systems that actually work, built on 13 years of experience with the tools of today.
Hashfox started in 2013 as a classic agency: websites, online shops, servers. Since then we have built, operated and supported systems for corporations and mid-sized companies, and learned what software really needs once it meets daily business.
Today we put that groundwork where the movement is: artificial intelligence, automation and modern infrastructure. Not as trend sellers but as craftspeople. We build things that run, and still run in five years.
We’ll tell you when something isn’t worth it. Honest advice is cheaper than a beautiful proposal for the wrong project.
Consulting, development, infrastructure, operations: no finger-pointing between vendors. One partner, one responsibility.
GDPR is not an obstacle for us, it’s an architecture principle. This website is the proof: no cookies, no US services, our own servers.
We bet on technology that keeps moving, and we build so your systems grow instead of aging.

clients, from local trade to global brand
Our office sits between Bonn and Cologne, and the work goes out from there to clients all over Germany and across Europe. Most of them we support remotely, some for more than a decade. Where a meeting on site earns its keep, we travel; where it doesn’t, we save you the expense.
Agencies like to describe how they work in adjectives. We would rather you knew in advance what actually happens and how you would notice if something were going wrong.
At the start
Usually we spend half a day on site simply watching: who does which step, where things get re-typed, where somebody waits for somebody else. After that we know things no requirements document contains. Out of that round comes a recommendation with reasons behind it, including, when it applies, the recommendation not to do the project in this shape.
During the project
We work in stages, each with its own budget. At the end of every stage there is something you can click, rather than a percentage in a plan. That has an uncomfortable side effect we accept on purpose: you find out early when a direction is wrong, and you can change course while it is still cheap.
Afterwards
We operate what we build if that is what you want, with monitoring, backups and a committed response time. If you would rather run it yourself, you get source code, documentation and credentials without anyone gritting their teeth. Some clients we have now been with for over a decade. That only works when both sides could walk away and choose not to.
We are a small, settled team based in Niederkassel between Bonn and Cologne, led by Christopher Wicha. For specialist work we bring in the same handful of partners who already know our projects. What that means for you: you talk to the people who also build, not to an account manager who passes it on.
Since 2013, so 13 years. We started as a classic agency doing websites, shops and servers; today the focus is AI, custom software and infrastructure. Over 140 tools, plugins and pieces of software have come out of those years.
No. We work across Germany and Europe, and most clients we support from wherever we are, some of them for more than a decade. The office sits between Bonn and Cologne, and where being there in person helps, for instance when racking hardware, we come to you. Where it doesn’t, we save you the travel cost.
Most often wholesale, online retail, building supply and industry, plus real estate and consulting. Clients range from a local trade business to a global brand. What connects the projects is not the sector but the starting point: there is one process that standard software does not map cleanly.
One named person who knows your project and your environment, not a ticket queue that hands you to somebody new each time. With a support contract, that is the same person who picks up the phone when something breaks.
Because it sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. No Google fonts, no embedded map, no trackers. The traffic statistics run on our own server. With no consent required, no banner is needed. It also happens to be our most honest work sample: privacy planned from the start rather than bolted on at the end.
No, neither is part of what we do. We build and operate systems. Making sure your team can work with the result is part of the project: a proper handover and documentation that deserves the name are included.
